Someone once said “Dogs are miracles with paws”, and a truer statement has never been said according to Joel Cohen.

Joel lives in Mt. Washington, Maryland where he does his dog renderings and men’s clothing sales from the same office/studio.

He started painting in 2007 and is a self proclaimed lucky guy to have been introduced to painting by his neighbor and friend, Gladys Goldstein, a nationally recognized Baltimore painter.

Joel's initial acrylic paintings consisted of geometric designs. Recently all his painting time is spent doing interpretations of his four legged friends.

His work has been called primitive, naïve and satirical; ask him for an adjective to describe what he creates and the word fun repeats itself over and over. With more than 150 completed paintings he can’t wait to get started on the next.

In September 2009 Joel had his first one man show at the Hyattstown Mill Arts Project in Clarksburg, Maryland.

Joel's paintings range in price from $200 to $550. Please contact him for further information.
